PAUL SLAUGHTER is an internationally recognized photographer who specializes in location assignments and fine art photography with a professional background in commercial photography, photojournalism, and special photography for film, television and theater. In 1984 he was the Official Photographer for the Los Angeles Olympic Committee. Paul has led photographic workshops internationally. Assignments have taken him to over seventy-five countries. He has taught at the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops. Paul has a special love for jazz and has an extensive photographic collection of jazz musicians dating from 1969 to the present. He has also has been a jazz disc jockey in Los Angeles.
EXHIBITIONS
In Santa Fe Paul has exhibited at the Monroe Gallery of Photography, The Institute of American Indian Arts Museum, the Andrew Smith Gallery, Lewallen Contemporary Gallery, the Gerald Peters Gallery, the Santa Fe Picture Gallery, and currently at the Verve Fine Arts Gallery of Photography. His photographs are in the collections of George Eastman House, the Prudential Insurance Company, the Los Angeles Public Library, the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History, and private collectors.
The Art Directors Club of New York City exhibited his award-winning work in their 64th Annual Exhibition, which toured the United States, Europe and Japan. His photographs of China were exhibited at the World Trade Center Club in Hong Kong. The City of Los Angeles presented an exhibition of his 1984 Olympic photographs.
AWARDS
In 2000 Paul was nominated for an "Eisie" for his photographic essay of the new Art Center at the College of Santa Fe by Mexican architect, Ricardo Legoretta. Eastman Kodak presented Paul their prestigious "Steuben Glass Award” for his photography displayed at the Professional Photographers' Showcase at Epcot Center in Disney World. He was given a "Gold Award" by the Art Directors Club in their 65th Annual awards for his photographs featured in the Final Report of the XXIII Olympiad.

BOOKS
The book Paul Slaughter Jazz Photographs 1969-2010 was published in 2010. It is a collection of 81 photographs of jazz icons such as Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Lloyd and Sarah Vaughan. Paul was commissioned to travel throughout the world to do the photography for the book, The Bahá’í Faith: In Words and Images. Oneworld Publications of Oxford, England will release the book in the summer of 2012.
